A primary cleanser for a primary reason Nov 27 '01 (Updated Jun 20 '07) Product Rating: 4.0 Pros Works easily on most skin types, no after residue, cleans good. Cons Not any I can think of. The Bottom Line It is one of the few cleansers that work, in an adequate amount of time, with a little patience you will see improvement. Full Review (c) Kristen Gilliam After trying the Neutrogena facial bar I started to realize how effective these face products truly are. All things take time, including solving skin problems with acne, and other assorted skin disorders. At the time I has paralysis on the sides of the nose and acne on my forehead and chin. I tried so many different cleansers, and I know for a fact I spent over 60 dollars trying to find the proper cleanser and moisturizer that would work for me without breaking out in the process. And after trying the Clean and Clear pads, I really felt like I had no hope indeed. After going through so many facial cleansers, my Mom suggested I go see a dermatologist. I took her advice and got two medications to try out, although they had some drying effects they did seem to be somewhat affective. And of coarse with that the dermatologist recommended Neutrogena products to me. She said they were tested and proved to work so that gave me some leftover hope that maybe skin would not forever look the way it did at the time. I stuck with the treatment system including medication and daily cleansing of the face. The first two weeks were somewhat disappointing, but after that sudden changed for the better were starting to be displayed. The pimples on my face were being slowly but surely dried out over time, but that is where the moisturizer every night came in. Sure to beat those dryed up spots that can appear on the face especially in the winter. People that get these usually have combination skin. Oily skin in the spring and summer, that gradually gets dryer as fall and winter roll around. Since my experience my face is totally clear but that was only a few years ago that I felt ashamed about my face just because of acne. The truth is it can really be a boost on self-esteem or a total downfall on anyone's part. The benefits I got from the Neutrogena Facial Cleansing Liquid are the following: 1. I certainly felt smoother and cleaner skin especially after removing all my leftover makeup. 2. Also after I washed my face I felt no slimy residue as I usually did with previous cleanser I had tried in the past previously. 3. I felt no burning sensations at all from this cleanser, with dry skin usually, I can get irritated skin simply from rubbing the cleanser over my skin. 4. The cleanser is not at all messy, and easily washes off after being lathered up. 5. The great thing I like most about this cleanser is you can actually feel the cleaness feeling penetrate the skin so I guess you could say your skin is really "clean" hense the feeling is there. What improvements did you notice One improvement I noticed was my blackheads and pimples started to gradually vanish over the next few weeks after starting to use the cleanser. What skin types can this type of cleanser be used on? This cleanser can be used on combination, dry, and oily skin. What have you got out of using this cleanser? I gained my confidence back in myself that is for sure. And I know never to give up on anything, because if you know you have the right product all it takes is time for noticeable changes to take place. This cleanser definently did it for me. And I would recommend this to anyone who has been having trouble finding a mild cleanser that can provide long-lasting cleanness inside and out.
